Official name: Residency for non-Qatari owners of real estate (Cabinet Resolution No. 28 of 2020)

Non-Qataris who own property worth at least QAR 730,000 in designated areas can obtain residency for themselves and their family while they own it; owners of property worth QAR 3,650,000 or more receive certain permanent-resident benefits.

Cabinet Resolution No. 28 of 2020 set out 9 freehold and 16 usufruct (99-year) areas for non-Qatari ownership. According to the Ministry of Justice, owners of property worth at least QAR 730,000 (about US$200,000) are granted residency for themselves and their family for the duration of ownership; owners of property worth at least QAR 3,650,000 (about US$1 million) receive the same benefits as permanent residents in healthcare, education and some commercial activities.
